Gustafsson faces Jan Blachowiz at UFC Hamburg

The output of Anthony Johnson of UFC on FOX 20, next month, left the Brazilian Glover Teixeira momentarily without an opponent for the attraction. However, there is one prominent name in the light heavyweight category who would accept replacing Johnson: the two-time title challenger Alexander Gustafson.

Gustafsson has not fought since October 2015, but guarantees that he is in excellent shape to fight. His obstacle would be another: the financial issue. The Swede hopes, if he is invited to the fight, to receive extra payment due to the fact that the fight is in just over a month.

“I would easily say yes if they called me. That's if I got paid like I should, just like everyone in the UFC gets paid when they accept a fight at short notice. I'm in great shape and my training has been great over the last few weeks”, said Gustafsson, in an interview with the Swedish website “Kimura.se”.

If he does not receive the invitation, Gustafsson will only return to the octagon on September 3, in Hamburg, Germany, when he faces the Pole Jan Blachowicz.
