After Fedor Emelianenko reveal interest in training with Shane carwin, the UFC fighter promptly responded to the Russian's statements. The North American said he was a fan of the former Pride champion and said he was impressed with Fedor's training style.
“I would be honored to train with Fedor. After seeing his special on CBS (North American TV channel) I was impressed by the isolation in which he carries out his training, which is very heavy”, said Carwin, in an interview with The Underground. Shane made a point of saying that he is already in contact with Emelianenko, including words of comfort from the Russian after his defeat to Brock Lesnar at UFC-116.
“Fedor was a nice guy to me. After the fight against Lesnar he sent me some very friendly words that put me in another perspective. He’s a great guy and a great fighter,” he said. Carwin was keen to point out that he can travel to Europe and train with Fedor in Russia.
“I will travel for my training this time. I want to improve myself in MMA as much as I can. Maybe even a trip to Russia if all things go as planned,” he concluded.
