Rockhold plummets in UFC rankings after losing title

Former champion lost ten positions in the weight-for-pound list, but leads at middleweight; 'Bate-Estaca' debuts in the straws in seventh

Luke Rockhold paid dearly for the defeat he suffered against Michael Bisping last Saturday (4), in the main fight of UFC 199. In addition to losing the middleweight belt, the North American fell in the official Ultimate rankings weight for weight, opening space for the Englishman's rise.

Rockhold dropped ten positions on the list that encompasses all fighters, regardless of weight category. The former champion is now 13th, while Bisping debuts in ninth place – the leader continues to be Jon Jones.

On the other hand, Rockhold continues to rise in the up to 84 kg category, where he occupies first place, ahead of Chris Weidman, Ronaldo Jacare e Vitor belfort. Bisping, as he is champion, is not on the list.

The one who reaped good results was the Brazilian Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” Andrade, who debuted in the strawweight division, beating the former challenger for the belt Jessica penne. The native of Paraná entered the category ranking in seventh place. Already Francisco Massaranduba benefited indirectly: Bobby Green, which lost to Dustin poirier, dropped out of the rankings, opening space for the Brazilian to make his debut.
