The soap opera involving the rematch between Conor McGregor e Nate diaz can have a frustrating ending. UFC president, Dana White, admitted that the new duel between the two may never get off the ground, as he has been facing great difficulties in negotiations.

The rematch was made official for UFC 200, next month. However, the duel was canceled after McGregor refused to fulfill a promotional commitment for the event. Since then, negotiations have aimed to reschedule the fight for UFC 202 in August, but Diaz is asking for a raise.
In an interview with the program “The Herd”, White admitted that the situation is more complicated than he would like. “It's crazy. It's been difficult, so we're looking for another fight for Conor and we'll see what happens. But Conor is obsessed with Diaz at 77kg, so it’s crazy,” he said.
According to the UFC president, the delay in negotiations means that McGregor will be out of action for a long time. “This fight was supposed to happen on August 20th or something like that. The September card is already assembled, so we're moving on to the next one. We are reaching a point where we are running out of time. So either Conor will have to choose a new opponent or we will miss the date. I think people want to see this fight, but they also want to see McGregor face Frankie Edgar ou José Aldo, or against Rafael dos Anjos light us. There are plenty of other fights out there for Conor if the rematch with Nate doesn’t get off the ground,” she admitted.
