“[The surgery] will happen soon. I went to some doctors who said I needed to take care of this immediately because the nerve is getting more damaged every second of every day. But there are other doctors who say that if I wait a few more weeks, the pain may go away completely. But it looks like I’m going to have the surgery next week or the next,” he revealed, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

According to the fighter, the surgery wouldn't be too complicated, so he could recover adequately to fight in New York. “I could return to training almost immediately. The only problem is that I would have a scar. So, I would have to wait for the scar to improve, and that's it. I could go back to strength training and things like that right away. I think that, in four weeks, I could return to training fully”, he said.
