UFC Fight Night Vegas was a night to forget for Brazilians, and further aggravated the troubled moment for Brazilian athletes in the Ultimate Octagon in 2016. As expected, the bad results had a direct influence on the official UFC rankings. and Brazil's fighters lost positions.

Knocked out by cody garbrandt in the main fight in Vegas, Thominhas Almeida fell two places in the bantamweight division and now shares ninth place with his compatriot John Lineker. Furthermore, Thominhas saw his tormentor Garbrandt debut in the rankings in seventh place.
