UFC Fight Night Vegas was a night to forget for Brazilians, and further aggravated the troubled moment for Brazilian athletes in the Ultimate Octagon in 2016. As expected, the bad results had a direct influence on the official UFC rankings. and Brazil's fighters lost positions.

Knocked out by cody garbrandt in the main fight in Vegas, Thominhas Almeida fell two places in the bantamweight division and now shares ninth place with his compatriot John Lineker. Furthermore, Thominhas saw his tormentor Garbrandt debut in the rankings in seventh place.
Those who also suffered from a negative result at the event were Renan Barao, Surpassed by Jeremy Stephens in the co-main fight, in a fight that marked his featherweight debut, Barão was removed from the bantamweight rankings and was unable to get a place in the top 15 of the top division, being left out of the list of athletes for the first time since its creation.
