UFC fighter escapes shooting at restaurant in Peru

The UFC fighter Valentina Shevchenko He had a huge scare on Sunday night (29), when he was in a restaurant in Lima, Peru. The establishment was robbed by three armed men until the athlete's coach, Pavel Fedotov, decided to react, which started the confusion.

According to the Peruvian newspaper “El Comercio”, the men robbed the restaurant's cash register and customers' belongings. As they completed the robbery and prepared to flee, Fedotov pulled out a gun and began shooting. One of the robbers died at the scene and the other two managed to escape.

During the confusion, Fedotov was hit in the abdomen and remains in hospital. Valentina escaped without any major setbacks and is doing well. Another customer at the establishment was also shot, but is not at risk.

Born in Kyrgyzstan, but based in Peru for more than a decade, Shevchenko is expected to face the former champion of the UFC women's bantamweight division Holly holm on July 23rd, in Chicago (USA).
