Increasing rumors of a boxing superfight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor are gaining strength. And one of the greatest coaches in the sport today, Freddie Roach, gave his opinion on the supposed duel: for him, McGregor would not “see the color of good” if he faced Mayweather.

In an interview with the television program “Inside MMA”, Roach revealed that he had heard about the UFC champion’s performance during his training. “I know he trained at one of my gyms and sparred with some of my fighters. From what I hear, he hasn’t been doing very well,” he commented.
Even though McGregor is a top fighter in the UFC, Roach believes he has no chance against Mayweather. “I even told Mayweather that I would need at least three years to prepare him. I don't think it would be possible to see an MMA fighter face a boxer, nor would it be fair. Mayweather would outplay him all day long. McGregor seems like a tough guy, but being tough doesn't help you in boxing. Mayweather is the best boxer in the world and I don't think he would lose a single round against a guy of Conor's experience. He seems to be an OK fighter, very good in MMA, but this is boxing, where he is a beginner”, he analyzed.
Roach is the trainer of one of Mayweather's great rivals, Manny Pacquiao. In MMA, he has already worked with names like Georges St Pierre, Andrei Arlovski, B.J. Penn e Mauritius Shogun.
