Barnett and Arlovski, in fact, should have faced each other before, but in another organization. In 2008, the two would fight at “Affliction: Day of Reckoning”, but the event ended up being postponed and, when it was rescheduled, the following year, the main fight was Arlovski x Fedor Emelianenko.
At 38 years old, Josh Barnett has a professional record of 34 wins and eight losses. The “Warmaster”, as he is known, is coming off a defeat to compatriot Ben Rothwell last January. Currently, Barnett occupies ninth place in the heavyweight category rankings.
Yes, Andrei Arlovski, 37 years old, has a record of 25 wins, 12 losses and one fight without result. The “Pitbull”, as he is known, comes from two consecutive defeats, to the champion Stipe Miocic and the next title challenger alistair overeem. Arlovski currently ranks sixth in the division.
UFC Fight Night Hamburg takes place on September 3rd at the Barclaycard Arena. In addition to the duel between Barnett and Arlovski, the event has also confirmed another fight: the light heavyweight clash Ryan bader e Ilir Latifi.
