Coming off two consecutive victories in Strikeforce, Antonio “Pezão” Silva could return to the Octagon in 2011 against the beast Fedor Emelianenko. The Brazilian revealed in an interview with the North American website MMA Junkie that he feels honored with the possibility of facing the Russian.
“I’m happy to hear these rumors,” said Pezão. “After all, who wouldn’t want to fight Fedor, a living legend in the sport?”
The Brazilian, who lives in the United States, stated that after the defeat to Fabricio Werdum, in June, Fedor showed that he can be finished and shows confidence for a fight that has not yet been made official.
“He (Fedor) has already shown flaws in his (ground) game, but until he gets to the ground, it's a stand-up fight. I'm going to train my hands, my wrestling and my jiu-jitsu for him”, concluded the Brazilian.
