The Brazilian Renan Barao he resumes his journey in the UFC next Sunday (28), in edition number 88 of the Fight Night series. After losing the belt in the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg.), the native of Rio Grande do Norte, who had a lot of difficulty making weight, moved up to the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg.) to face Jeremy Stephens.

The North American, who has experience against top names in the lightweight category (up to 70,3 kg.), promises to make Barão's debut in the new division difficult.
“My focus is to get in there to decimate my opponent, whoever is in front of me. I've faced top guys for many years, whether at lightweight or featherweight, I've defeated former champions. Barão is a lighter guy moving up the division, coming off two knockouts. I think that, mentally, he has a lot to sort out and I will be a lot of sand in his truck on Sunday night. I’m going to take him to the canvas”, said Stephens, remembering the Brazilian’s defeats to TJ Dillashaw in the loss of the bantamweight belt and in the rematch for the title.
Despite remembering Barão's two recent defeats, Jeremy Stephens expects Barão to return to the Octagon willing to recover and repeat the performances that led him to the bantamweight title.
“I've been through this, I've had two defeats, I overcame it and came back even stronger, hungry and motivated. That's the kind of person I train for, that Renan Barao champion. But he's facing me and I'm a different breed. My plan is to make Sunday night my night”, he concluded.
