Ultimate is almost always scheduled for the end of May, on the Memorial Day, one of its biggest events of the year. In 2016, however, the strategy used by the organization was a little different: instead of betting on “medallions” or renowned athletes, the attraction will feature some of its main current promises.

This will be the focus of UFC Fight Night 88, an event that will take place this Sunday (29), at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, in Las Vegas (USA). The main fight of the night will be between two of the biggest “jewels” in the bantamweight category, Thomas almeida e cody garbrandt.
More than just because of the undefeated record of both men (21-0 for Thominas, 8-0 for Cody), the fight promises to be one of the greatest displays of aggression ever seen in the Octagon recently. Both fighters are famous for moving forward, explosive and capable of deciding the fight in the blink of an eye.
The Brazilian from Chute Boxe SP has no less than 16 knockouts in his career, three of which were in the UFC. The North American, created by Team Alpha Male, knocked out in seven of his eight fights. Who will keep their record impeccable after Sunday? This is the key question of the Las Vegas event.
More and more promises from the roosters

Interestingly, UFC FN 88 will feature another duel between promising rooster fighters who have not been receiving the same attention as Thomas almeida x cody garbrandt. aljamain sterling, which is ahead of the protagonists in the category's official ranking, takes Bryan caraway in the second fight of the event.
Sterling, 26 years old, has an impeccable record in professional MMA, with 13 wins in 13 fights. Only in the UFC has the North American beaten Takeya Mizugaki and Johnny Eduardo, which left him in fourth place in the category.
Caraway, eighth in the rankings, is no longer necessarily considered a promise, as he is 31 years old. However, the champion's boyfriend Miesha Tate is a great parameter for Sterling, as he has faced the likes of Raphael Assunção e Eddie Wineland.
Event will mark new beginning for Barão

Former UFC bantamweight champion (61 kg), Renan Barao experienced difficult moments in his career, suffering two recent knockouts to TJ Dillashaw in title fights. Furthermore, the fighter had great difficulties in reaching the weight limit for the category, so, combining the useful with the pleasant, he decided to move up in weight.
In this first experience at featherweight (66 kg), the former champion will have an idea of how he will have to deal with bigger opponents. After all, your opponent, Jeremy Stephens, is a former lightweight fighter (70 kg), including an old victory over none other than Rafael dos Anjos.
Stephens presents his greatest weapons in stand-up fighting, as he has the ability to dispatch an opponent with just a single punch. Barão, knocked out in two of his last three fights, will need to stay alert, but a victory in his debut at the new weight could represent the fresh start he is looking for.
In addition to Barão and Thominhas, the event will feature two more Brazilians: Vitor miranda faces Chris Camozzi, and Alberto Uda catches Jake collier.
