The most attentive fan may have noticed that José Aldo recently made some public taunts against his next opponent, Frankie Edgar – like when declared that he already beat him using just one arm. The North American, however, is not surprised by the Brazilian's attitude, whom he considers to be only trying to promote the second duel between the two, at UFC 200.

Edgar considers that Aldo, like several other athletes, has been trying to draw more public attention to follow the example of Conor McGregor, who gained notoriety in the UFC due to his stance outside the octagon. However, the former lightweight champion believes that the Brazilian is not suited for promotion.

“You see this happening in all categories: guys are talking more. They see what this has given Conor, so they are trying to make their voices heard. I think that's what Aldo has been doing. He's trying to promote the fight. He’s just not very good at doing it”, he said, in an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website.

More than that, Edgar believes that Aldo wants to give the public the feeling that he recovered from the knockout he suffered in just 13 seconds. Conor McGregor, in December last year. “He hears people talking about how close our fight was, but then he wants to show a false sense of security. Maybe it’s because he’s having to deal with the knockout,” he declared.
