The WFE will hold its eighth edition this Wednesday (15), in Salvador. The show, which will be promoted in partnership with Platinum, features two title fights and the return of Chinzo Machida, brother of Lyoto Machida, to MMA.
After four years away from competition, the black belt will face local fighter Leonardo Laiola. Chinzo is a karate champion and is primarily responsible for his brother's success. Lyoto Machida in the UFC. In his only two appearances in MMA, he beat Cristiano Rosa by knockout in 2005 and lost to Bryan Rafiq by submission in 2006, both in the Jungle Fight.
The event also features two title fights. Experienced fighters Bruno Carioca and Daniel Acácio compete in the middleweight category (up to 84kg), while Erick Parrudo and Jorjão Rodrigues fight for the lightweight title (up to 70kg). Ednaldo Lula and Gerônimo Mondragon close the card.
