Bruno Cappelozza and Klidson de Abreu easily passed the scale this Friday afternoon and are ready for the Jungle Fight 87. Former champion of the organization in the under-100 kg category, Bruno gave up the title to fight at the weight he felt most comfortable with. The event takes place this Saturday (21), at the Mauro Pinheiro gym – Ibirapuera complex, in São Paulo, with live broadcast from Bandsports and the band.com.br portal from 21 pm.

“I've always fought at 93kg, I adapt better to it. With defeat you learn more than with victory, I am much more focused and more trained. Klidson is very good at jiu-jitsu, but I trained hard in Curitiba, where he has the best muay thai gyms,” said Cappelozza, who has knocked out in his seven career victories.
With just one defeat on his record and eight wins, Klidson from Manaus knows, but is not afraid of, his opponent's knockout power: “He's prepared on his feet, but I'm well trained too. I want to take this title to Manaus”, said the shy Klidson, who has two consecutive victories.
The weigh-in for the 87th edition of the biggest MMA event in Latin America brought an important change to the organization's card. With 1,6 kg above the middleweight category (up to 84 kg), Quemuel Ottoni is out of contention for the interim belt. The athlete was replaced by the experienced Paraíba native Rodrigo Buga, 35 years old.
According to the director of the Jungle arbitration committee, Flávio Almendra, the idea is to monitor the athletes more closely so that they don't do anything crazy when it comes to dropping weight with just a few days left before the fight. According to him, monitoring with regional arbitration teams would be a solution to this type of problem.
“When signing the contract, the athlete needs to weigh approximately their category. Only in this way will we be able to guarantee a healthy weight loss and put an end to some crazy things in the days leading up to the event. The idea is that this monitoring will be carried out by a regional arbitration team. This is already happening in several countries and we will also bring it to the Jungle Fight".
Borrachinha spoke about the change of opponent and, according to him, his impressive record and aggressive fighting style end up intimidating many opponents.
“I have been saying extensively that it is difficult to find an athlete who will accept to fight with me. I understand and believe that my record and my fighting style scares many fighters. I'm ready to face anyone in the world. I'm going to fight the next opponent, I'm going to go up and I'm going to knock him out again. This belt is mine.” ”. The fighter showed a lot of confidence and promoted the duel with strong statements.
For the women's strawweight belt, Debora Dias had difficulty reaching the category's limit of 52 kilos and ended up being 350 grams above the permitted limit. However, the woman from Paraná managed to reach the limit after the two hours given to her as a deadline and the title fight is confirmed.
