After many years of anxiety and rumors, the Brazilian Chris Cyborg finally debuted in the octagon last Saturday (14), on the main card of UFC 198, and lived up to expectations with an overwhelming knockout in just a few minutes over North American Leslie Smith. Cyborg's performance caught the attention of the bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, who said she was willing to face the Brazilian in a fight for the title.

“What an impressive performance from Chris Cyborg tonight (at UFC 198)! What a powerful woman! Congratulations on reaching 63 kg! Another 1,8 kg and we can fight for the belt”, said the champion on social media, remembering that the Brazilian would still have more weight to lose if she decided to be accredited as a title challenger, but also mentioning that she would accept a fight at combined weight. “Yes, I could (accept), but in that case it wouldn’t be in a title fight,” she said, in response to a fan.

Despite the positive nod from Miesha Tate, Chris Cyborg he shouldn't return to the UFC soon or try to move down a category. Shortly after the victory over Leslie Smith in Curitiba (PR), Cyborg said that her immediate plans are: to return to Invicta FC and defend her featherweight title in the organization.
