Even without climbing into the Octagon, Jon Jones was one of the big losers of the night at UFC 198. The interim light heavyweight champion revealed that he had lost money on rigged bets at the event last Saturday (14), in Curitiba, Paraná.

On his Twitter account, Jones told his followers, in real time, his wild guesses. Initially, the fighter bet $500 with his brother, American football player Arthur Jones, on Nate Marquardt's victory over Thiago Marreta, still on the preliminary card. The Brazilian won by technical knockout in the first round.

Next, Jones chose Matt Brown to defeat Demian Maia, in a fight that ended up being largely dominated by the Brazilian. Finally, “Bones” bet on Vitor belfort e Fabricio Werdum – both were knocked out in the first round to, respectively, Ronaldo Jacare e Stipe Miocic.

In total, Jones declared that he lost US$2 (more than R$7 at current exchange rates) to his brother, plus US$500 (R$1700) to his muay thai coach, Brandon Gibson.

Luckily for him, his skills inside the octagon are very different from those he presents in his fights. In his next fight, Jones will try to regain the belt in the 93 kg category against Daniel Cormier, in the main fight of UFC 200, on July 9th.
