UFC 198 will be the biggest MMA event ever held on Brazilian soil, and one of the biggest ever in the world, but for Rafael Cordeiro, leader of the Kings MMA team, it will be marked as the card that was held just a few days after the death of your mother. Therefore, the champion Fabricio Werdum chose the official weigh-in, held this Friday afternoon (13) in Curitiba (PR), to honor both Cordeiro and his mother, Maria Conceição, who passed away on Thursday night (12).
Visibly touched, Werdum entered the stage with a black band on his shirt, on which the name of the master's mother was written. Throughout, the Brazilian showed the tribute and did not hide his emotion, even after hitting 104,8 kg on the scale and confirming the main fight of the night, in front of Stipe Miocic, which weighed 109,6 kg.
“My professor Rafael Cordeiro, who you all know, cannot be here today. His mother passed away yesterday, that's why I'm paying this tribute. So I wanted to send a hug to all the mothers in Brazil, but especially to Dona Maria. A big round of applause for her, please”, said Werdum, in an interview while still on stage, immediately receiving affection from the audience, who reciprocated with a loud round of applause.
Belfort has a mixed reception and receives some boos

Event had war between fans and foreigners
One of the most striking points of the official UFC 198 weigh-in, however, was the reaction of the fans and the polite replies from some fighters.
First it was Matt Brown, opponent of Demian Maia, who stood with his back to the audience on the scale and, as a bonus, even made an obscene gesture towards the fans – who, in turn, responded with boos and insults.
Shortly thereafter, Corey anderson, rival of Mauritius Shogun on the main card he also didn't care about courtesy and made a provocation towards the fans.
