This Saturday (14), Ultimate will hold its first edition on Brazilian soil in 2016, a year that promises to have a lean schedule of events, so much so that the organization's next time in the country will only take place in the middle of the second semester. The second UFC of the year in Brazil will take place on September 24th, in Brasília.

The information was released by the “Combate” website. According to the publication, the venue for the second event in the federal capital will be the same as the first visit: the Nilson Nelson Gymnasium, located in the Mané Garrincha Stadium complex. So far, there are no fights announced for the card, which should be part of the “Fight Night” series – which does not feature belt fights or several fights between ranked athletes.
The UFC's first appearance in Brasília took place in September 2014. At the time, the event was headlined by a duel between heavyweights Andrei Arlovski e Antonio Pezão, who fought at home – in addition, the card also featured the “VIP presence” of Ronda Rousey, who visited Brazil for the first time as Ultimate champion. Inside the octagon, Arlovski knocked out Pezão in the first round.
