Ronaldo Jacare indicated what its strategy will be for the fight against Vitor belfort, this Saturday (14), in the second most important fight of UFC 198, in Curitiba. Faced with his rival's dangerous stand-up game, the man from Manaus believes that his jiu-jitsu will be enough to finish the fight and guarantee another victory for his record.

“In fact, nobody wants to exchange blows with Vitor, especially at the beginning of the fight. He's a very strong guy. I believe my best chance to win the fight is to take it to the ground. If Belfort goes to the ground, I will submit him”, declared Jacaré, in a promotional video released by the UFC.

Jacaré's argument is based on statistics: throughout his career, Belfort won no less than 18 victories by knockout or submission in the first round. Precisely for this reason, Jacaré praised the opportunity of being able to measure strength against an opponent with such a track record.

“I was very happy when I found out I would face Belfort. I was very excited. It's not every day that you get a fight with an opponent of Belfort's caliber, a very tough opponent, who has a big name”, highlighted the Brazilian.

Jacaré is 36 years old and has won five fights in the UFC, against just one defeat. The only setback happened precisely in his most recent fight, against Yoel romero, at UFC 194, in December last year.
