In a night full of good fights, Brasil Fight 3 rocked the capital of Minas Gerais this Saturday (27). The main attraction of the event was the challenge between athletes from the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo. Better for the home team who won four of the five matches valid for the competition. In the combined fights, the highlight is the beautiful knockout of Ygor “Chatubinha” about Marcelo “Uirapuru”.

The miners started by winning the challenge when Cesar Gordim knocked out Udi Lima in the first round after defending an armbar in the triangle by applying a piledriver. Then the São Paulo team reacted. With just over a minute of action, Alessandro Zóio took advantage of a slip Thiago Michel and applied a rear naked choke to the athlete from Minas Gerais  to tie the dispute.

In the third fight of the night, Cristiano “Titi” put the miners back in front of the scoreboard. “Titi” completely dominated the actions of the fight against the São Paulo native Valter da Silva, forcing his opponent to give up the fight in the second round. And to declare the victory of the Minas Gerais team, Joaquim Mamute e Edson Conterraneo provided an electrifying fight for the public present at the Chevrolet Hall. The heavyweights had a busy duel with many twists and turns, a fact that earned praise from the event organizer, Tatá Duarte.

“I'm also an athlete and a heavyweight, but Mamute and Conterraneo had a bantamweight duel, such was the guys' movement,” said Tatá.

In combat, “Mamute” worked better in the initial two rounds, always putting him down and trying to work on his jiu-jitsu. But “Conterraneo”, always active, managed to defend himself from all of the Minas Gerais’ positions. In the third round, the local athlete felt the rhythm of the duel and Edson was better, controlling the fight on the feet and on the ground. In the end, Joaquim “Mamute” won in a split decision from the judges, a fact that displeased Conterraneo’s coach, Miguel Repanas, who left the octagon angry. In the last fight of the challenge, Gustavo “Coelho” increased the home team's advantage even further by finishing Marcio “from the Bronx” in the first round.

Chatubinha shines in married fights
Once the challenge was over, the event also featured four good fights. In women's combat, Juliana “Thai” derrotou Aline Seriously in the judges' split decision. In the rematch between William Vianna e Mauricio “Faction”, the duel was quite busy and with a lot of striking, where Vianna had greater force in her blows, while “Fação” worked better on the sequence of punches. In the end, William Vianna won in a split decision from the judges.

Another confrontation that shook up the event was between Ronnie Marques e Fernando Lageano. Marques was unaware of his opponent and knocked him out in the first round. In the last fight of the night, Igor Chatubinha, who had defeated Marcelo “Uirapuru” by submission in Brasil Fight 2, repeated his triumph in the third edition. Right at the beginning of the fight, the athletes began to exchange blows and, with a straight right, “Chatubinha” knocked out “Uirapuru” in just 18 seconds of the fight.

Sad note
An unfortunate event hindered the success of the event. A fight between Atlético-MG and Cruzeiro fans near the Chevrolet Hall left one dead and one seriously injured.
