To this day, the champion with the most title defenses in UFC history, Anderson Silva, now 41 years old, seems to no longer aim to return to the top of his category. About to step into the octagon at UFC 198, in Curitiba (PR), where he will face Uriah Hall, Spider assured that he still has the motivation to fight, but that it no longer involves winning the title.

“My goals and challenges within the fight are simply to overcome myself and be happy. I'm not waiting for anyone, I'm not looking for: 'Oh, I want the belt'. I think there are so many other athletes in this tireless search. And in my entire career I never looked for that. Things happened because I did it with truth, with love and affection”, said Silva, in an interview with Ultimate himself.

Furthermore, Anderson also celebrated the fact that he could return to fight in Brazil and, especially, on a card full of great attractions like UFC 198. “I would continue fighting for another ten years, you know? It's cool to be able to fight again here in Brazil, especially in a stadium. This was missing from my career. I'm happy to be able to fight on a cool card like this and to be able to have a little more support from the Brazilian fans. But the responsibility also increases a little”, he assured.
