Fighter who was run over fails to resist and dies in the USA

The world of MMA is in mourning. This Wednesday (4), Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons, victim of being run over last weekend, succumbed to his injuries and was confirmed dead in Delray Beach, in the United States.

The announcement was made by Bellator president Scott Coker. “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons. Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in our sport. But more important than that, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a tragic and terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and training companions”, said the director.

Parsons was 25 years old and was preparing to fight at Bellator next week, in San Jose, California (USA). Last Sunday (1), the fighter was run over while crossing a pedestrian crossing, and the driver fled the scene without providing assistance. The athlete was hospitalized and had a leg partially amputated, but his organs began to fail.

The “Garoto Bonito”, as he was known, had a record of 11 wins and two losses in professional MMA. Parsons trained at the Blackzilians gym and was a training partner with several renowned names, such as UFC fighters. Rashad evans, Anthony Johnson, Michael Johnson, Among others.
