At the end of last year, José Aldo suffered enormous professional frustration at UFC 194. In one of the most important fights of his career, against his fierce rival Conor McGregor, the Brazilian lost the featherweight belt with a lightning knockout, in just 13 seconds. However, Aldo guarantees that the disappointment is in the past.

The former champion admitted that he was upset about the fight for a long time, but that he has now reestablished himself in his quest to regain the category belt. “Of course I felt a lot, mainly because of how the fight went and the way I lost. I was a bit unwell for a while, but it's over, it's in the past. I'm not going to suffer for something that has already happened, I live for my future and my future is to win back the belt. I’m going to get back on track again, win and win back everything”, he analyzed, in an interview with the “Combate” channel website.

On July 9th, at UFC 200, Aldo faces Frankie Edgar for the interim category title. Neither the Brazilian nor the American will be able to compete for the definitive belt due to the fact that McGregor is focused on his plans to fight Nate diaz in the welterweight category. “I think our fight could be for the linear belt. Of course, the UFC decides this, I don't know what their attitude will be, but I consider this fight to be the next step for me to regain the belt”, said the Brazilian.
