UFC-123: Duel between Lyoto and Rampage takes place today

Everything is ready in Detroit, in the United States, for UFC-123, an event that features as its main attraction the duel between two former champions: The Brazilian Lyoto Machida will measure forces against the North American Quinton Rampage Jackson. Focused after losing his unbeaten record and the UFC light heavyweight belt, Lyoto appears calm and confident for his return to the Octagon.

“In every fight the athlete has to prove something. It's my face that's on the line, so I'll have to prove what I'm capable of”, says Machida. “You can say whatever you want until the padlock (of the octagon) closes. After that, anything can happen. Even more so at a level of competition like this,” she adds.

The main card will also feature a duel that brings an old rivalry to the surface. B.J. Penn, former lightweight and welterweight champion faces Matt hugs, the biggest winner in the welterweight division. This will be the third duel between the fighters, with one victory each in previous clashes.
