The Russian event Fight Nights has already caused astonishment by declaring that, even in the midst of a major anti-doping crusade in MMA (led mainly by the UFC and USADA), it will not carry out any type of test on the fighters of its next event, scheduled for the 17th. of June, and which will be headlined by the fight between Fábio Maldonado and Fedor Emelianenko. However, an even bigger surprise was caused by Maldonado, who assumed that he will use illegal substances to fight Fedor.

The hormone replacement is prohibited in Brazil, but is normally sold in pharmacies in the United States. The product is advertised as an “anti-aging hormone”.
Furthermore, Maldonado recognized that, on the one hand, leaving the UFC was good for his career, as it led him to the biggest fight of his professional career. “It’s definitely the biggest fight of my career. I have no doubt. In that sense, it was good (leaving the UFC). Of course, at the time I was sad, but today it was the best option. God writes correctly through crooked lines”, he concluded.
