With a vast history of injuries in his career and with one fight, the defeat to Fabricio Werdum, carried out in practically three years, Cain Velazquez is ready to not repeat the same mistakes of the past. Scheduled to face Travis Browne at UFC 200, the former heavyweight champion assured that he will take some precautions to avoid another fight cancellation due to an injury in training.

“The main thing now is to get to the fight. Listen to your body. I don't want to be left out. I want to stay active. I want to fight. It's my job and I want to do it. Sparring three times a week isn't as good for me as it is for a guy just starting out in the sport. I think I’m going to reduce it to two days a week, maybe just one,” said Velasquez, on the website of the North American channel “FOX Sports”.
