English actor Josh Herdman, who gained notoriety for participating in the Harry Potter film franchise, made his professional MMA debut with victory last weekend, at an event held in London, England.
Herdman, who played the character Gregory Goyle, henchman of the villain Draco Malfoy, in eight films in the series, defeated the Polish Janusz Walachowski. Despite his first successful step into the sport, the Englishman stated that he has not yet given up on his acting career.
“I chose MMA because I love the sport. It's exciting and unpredictable. I haven't lost my love for acting yet, as I still have a manager and go to auditions to try and get roles. But it’s like trying to win the lottery for a living”, explained Herdman, in an interview with the “Addicted MMA” website.
At 28 years old, Herdman performed his last role in 2013, in the television series “Coming Up”. His most recent prominent film was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which ended the series in 2011.
