Last Saturday (23), the former champion Jon Jones returned to the octagon without any major scares, with a dominant victory over Ovince St Preux in the main fight of UFC 197. And the difference between the athletes was not only seen inside the octagon, but also in the salary sheet for the event in Las Vegas (USA).
In his first fight since January 2015, Jones received an amount of US$500, around R$1,7 million at current prices. St. Preux, defeated in the judges' unanimous decision, took home US$55 (R$195).
Who also received a fat salary by UFC standards was Demetrious Johnson. Flyweight champion, the North American pocketed US$195 in his technical knockout victory over Henry Cejudo, who, in turn, received US$60.
UFC 197 also featured five Brazilians: Edson Barboza ($88 thousand), Rafael Sapo (US$41 thousand), Juliana Lima (US$14 thousand), Glaico France ($17 thousand) and Marcos Foot (US$ 24 thousand).
