It seems that all the controversy of the last week involving Conor McGregor, when the Irishman announced his retirement and was cut from UFC 200 for refusing to participate in promotional events, it will not end with the fighter actually off the card. The guarantor is McGregor himself, who took to social media in the early hours of Monday (25) to announce his return to fight night.

“I'm happy to announce that I'm BACK at UFC 200! Shout out to Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta for making this happen for the fans. #respect”, wrote the Irishman on his official profile on Twitter. In less than 30 minutes, more than 15 thousand fans had already retweeted the message – even though it had been published in the early hours of the morning in much of the US and Europe.

In his weekly column in the Irish newspaper “The 42”, coach John Kavanagh had already said that his pupil continued to prepare to fight, even after his cut from the event was made official. “At this point, I believe the only way Conor would be a part of UFC 200 is if he was a last-minute replacement or something. We continued training twice a day, aiming for July 9th. Everything is in place for him to be at the peak of his preparation for UFC 200”, wrote the leader of SBG Ireland.

So far, neither the UFC organization nor even president Dana White have publicly commented on McGregor's statement, either to confirm or deny the Irishman's return to the event.
