UFC 122, which will be held next Saturday (13), in Germany, brings on its card the fight valid for the middleweight category between the North American Nate marquardt and Japanese Yushin Okami. The organizers of the organization assured the fighters that the winner of the confrontation will compete next year for the category belt, which is currently held by the Brazilian Anderson Silva.
The Brazilian athlete highlighted that the fight between Marquardt and Okami promises to be fierce, as both are experienced and can decide the fight by knocking out or submitting their opponent at any time. Silva also said that he prefers not to give his opinion on who will be the winner of the UFC 122 main fight, but that he will be paying attention to what will happen this weekend on German soil.
“Obviously I will pay close attention to UFC 122, as the chance to fight for the middleweight belt will be on the line. I’m looking forward to knowing who the new challenger for the title will be,” he said.
Although his next belt defense is already scheduled for February 5th of next year against his compatriot Vitor belfort, Anderson Silva He is confident about this new challenge and is already planning his career for 2011.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s against Marquardt or Okami, I will defend my belt against one of them next year”, he assured.
