Ovince St Preux occupies an underdog position rarely seen in the history of MMA. Before Jon Jones, one of the most successful fighters in the sport, the American of Haitian descent has only had two weeks of training, but believes he may have an advantage over his rival: the pace of the fight.

OSP has had three fights in the Octagon since 2015, with two wins and one loss. Jones, involved in several personal problems, only did one, in January last year. “The pace of the fight may give me a little advantage, but, at this moment, the focus is on preparation. I know how to prepare for fights correctly, so I had good training,” said St. Preux, according to the North American website “Sherdog”.

Even though he is aware of the challenge ahead, St. Preux highlighted his mental preparation for the fight. “I'm calm, calm. That's just how I've been feeling. Many people say that fights are about physical attributes, but mental preparation also matters a lot. So, I’m calm and calm,” he added.

St. Preux accepted the fight in early April, when Daniel Cormier, who would face Jones for the division belt, was injured. The son of Haitians has 19 wins and seven losses in professional MMA.
