Dana went live on SportsCenter, the world's leading sports newspaper, on ESPN in the United States, and revealed that McGregor's departure from the duel is not just about his retirement. According to the director, the fighter refused to interrupt his training in Iceland to participate in an event to promote the show.
“He didn’t want to show up (in Las Vegas for the recording), he’s in Iceland training. He said that coming here would affect his training, but all the other fighters on the card are coming,” said White.
“Obviously, we still have a good relationship with Conor. I respect Conor as a fighter and I like him as a person. But you can't decide not to show up at these things. You have to participate”, added the president.
The director, on the other hand, preferred not to comment on the possible retirement of the UFC's biggest pay-per-view (PPV) seller today.
"I know Conor McGregor Are you retired? I don't know, only he can answer this question. But he will no longer fight at UFC 200,” added Dana
