After debuting with a defeat in Strikeforce, the Brazilian Gesias Cavalcante should return to the American Octagon in January or February of next year. According to his manager, Alex Davis, in an interview with the North American website MMA Weekly, 'JZ', he wants a new fight against Josh thomson, an opponent who defeated him earlier this month, but this duel is unlikely to happen.
“JZ wants a rematch against Thomson, but I don't think he'll accept it, as he's thinking about a fight against (Gilbert) Melendez (current Strikeforce lightweight champion),” said Davis. The businessman also stated that the Brazilian athlete will soon return to fighting.
“I heard from Strikeforce that he probably fights in January or February,” Davis said. “They don’t have spaces on the December card, he added.
