With the rejection of José Aldo in moving up to the UFC lightweight division, an indigestible opponent offered to change categories and face the Brazilian. The North American Frankie Edgar, owner of the organization's lightweight belt, stated that he could move down to the featherweight category and measure his strength against the Brazilian athlete.
“A fight with him (José Aldo) would be huge. He's a guy my size and very dangerous. Dropping to 66 kilos is not very difficult for me. I wouldn’t be surprised if Aldo’s weight cuts were bigger than mine”, said Edgar, speaking to the North American website MMA Diehards.
Before this possible confrontation, both fighters are scheduled for the same event: UFC-125, which will take place on January 1st. Edgar will defend his lightweight belt against Gray MaynardMeanwhile, Aldo puts his title on the line against Josh Grispi.
