The Brazilian Lyoto Machida is on the rise in the United States, undefeated in his career with 12 victories, the last 4 of which were in the UFC, the Brazilian is already thinking about challenging for the light heavyweight belt in 2008
“It was a great victory [against Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou at UFC 79]. I hope people start to recognize that I'm here to stay and I'd like to fight for the belt by the end of this year…. I believe I'm ready to be a champion. If they gave this opportunity, I would gladly accept it.”
Machida also comments on his likely new opponent, the former UFC champion, Tito Ortiz.
