After an injury Daniel Cormier from UFC 197, Jon Jones confirmed that it will continue on the card, which takes place on April 27th, in Las Vegas (USA). Without fighting MMA since January 2015, 'Bones' revealed that he even accepts moving up a category to continue on the show.

“Hey, you know I don't like accepting last minute fights, it's not the way me and my coaches do things! But this past year has been really crazy, and I feel like I owe a lot to my fans. So, UFC, whether it's a heavyweight or light heavyweight fight, it doesn't matter. Let’s keep this main event, send them my way,” Jones declared on his Instagram account.
Shortly after Jones announced that he would remain on the card, Denise White, the fighter's publicist, announced that her client would face Anthony Johnson. But, shortly afterwards, he deleted the post on Twitter.
Jon Jones He was UFC light heavyweight champion between 2011 and 2015, defended his title eight times and was considered the greatest fighter of all time.
However, the fighter was stripped of his title as champion and received a suspension from Ultimate after being involved in a traffic accident and fleeing without providing assistance to the victim, a pregnant woman. He was under the influence of drugs. After being reinstated to the UFC, Jones was arrested again last week, for betting a 'racha' on the street and arguing with a police officer. Despite the incidents, Ultimate did not punish the former champion again and kept Jon at UFC 197.
