The doping episode experienced last year, in addition to all the controversy surrounding the trial that followed the positive test for anabolic and anxiolytic steroids, seem to have been left behind in the career of Anderson Silva. During the UFC 198 launch party, in Curitiba (PR), Spider spoke naturally about the subject and even joked about his defense presented to the Nevada Athletic Commission, in which he claimed to have consumed a contaminated impotence medicine.

“I have no problem talking about it, even though it happened. I went from high to low very quickly. But, it's okay, everything is fine. If I had taken anabolic steroids, I would have a deep voice,” said Anderson, who also spoke about his long career in the octagon and his time as champion. “I have good and bad memories, but I don’t miss it. I did things that some people doubted, that they thought were impossible. I arrived at the UFC when I was 29 or 30 years old, I had in my mind to do everything differently from what everyone else had done. And for a long time, I succeeded. Age is coming… But I still have that energy, that desire. Of course I can't forget my age, as I'll be fighting younger athletes. My contract has a lot of fights and, if I qualify, I believe I can fight for the belt again. I see myself as a champion every day,” he revealed.
