Current UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold He had luxury company at a training session held at his gym. The Californian fighter exchanged some blows with Marshawn Lynch, star of the NFL, the professional American football league.

Lynch, a former Seattle Seahawks running back who retired earlier this year, has shown little familiarity with boxing gloves. The player, nicknamed “Beast Mode”, tried to throw some clumsy punches at Rockhold, as well as a knee and a kick into the void.

Despite the apparent distance between the sports, several former American football players have transitioned to MMA fighting, as happened with Bob Sapp, Herschel Walker, Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione.

Rockhold, in turn, began training with a view to rematching Chris Weidman on June 4th, in the main attraction of UFC 199. It will be the first title defense for the athlete, who won the belt against the same Weidman in December last year.
