The UFC's first event in the Netherlands, in May, will feature an interesting main event. alistair overeem e Andrei Arlovski will face each other despite being teammates at Jackson's MMA gym, in the United States. Despite this, Arlovski guaranteed that he will overtake his rival towards his dream of competing for the title again.
In an interview with the “MMA Latest” channel, Arlovski explained that the desire to see the fight happen came from the Dutch fighter himself. “Overem called Joe Silva [responsible for arranging the fights] and begged to fight me at home. The UFC called me, called my manager and told me that Overeem wanted to fight me in Rotterdam. I said, 'No problem at all,'” he said. “It's a little weird, but for me, it's not weird because I don't give a shit. He won't have Mike Winkeljohn or Greg Jackson as his coaches, so tough luck for him. Fine by me."
Overeem and Arlovski duel on May 8, in the city of Rotterdam. Fight night will also have Stefan struve facing up Antonio Pezão, in addition to the presence of Brazilian Yan Cabral, who faces Reza Madadi.
