After the cancellation, last Saturday, of the WCO by the California State Athletic Commission, due to the organization not having the cash to pay the athletes' scholarships, Brazilian Gustavo Ximu, who was on the show's card, commented on this fact.
“It was a surprise, I found out about the cancellation three hours before going to the gym. I talked to my manager and he said it was more due to bureaucracy that didn't let the event happen. The Athletic Commission demands a lot and what I learned is that there were two partners and one of them had the money and the other had permission to put on the show, but I think they had a disagreement and the Commission demanded that they both had the money. My fight went very well, so there is already interest from other events in holding it, which is why I stayed here in the United States. If there was another WCO event I wouldn't fight, for me they are already burned”, declared Ximu.
