An unusual punishment appeared on the list of suspensions for WSOF 29, an event held last Saturday (12) in Greeley, Colorado (USA). Big star of the attraction, the lightweight champion Justin gaethje caught an indefinite uppercut for celebrating his victory against Brian Foster with a backflip.
Gaethje, who retained the title by knocking out Foster just over a minute into the fight, made his traditional celebration moments after the fight. However, this was considered by the Colorado State Boxing Commission, the body that regulated the event, as an unsportsmanlike attitude.
Before the fight, the commission even warned Gaethje not to hold the celebration in case of victory, but the fighter did not comply with the request. Therefore, the fighter is suspended by the entity until further notice.
At 27 years old, Gaethje remains undefeated in professional MMA, with 16 wins in 16 fights.
