The Brazilian, jiu-jitsu and MMA legend, highlighted the work done by McGregor to attract the public's attention and accept new challenges. “Conor is unbelievable. We need 10 more Conor McGregors in this business. The truth is that he brought a lot of attention, he made the sport grow a lot. He made people who never watched MMA pay attention. I definitely want Conor McGregor fight for the next 20 years”, he praised, in an interview with the YouTube channel “Louder Noise”.

Renzo also praised the stance of brothers Nick and Nate diaz, the second being McGregor's greatest tormentor at UFC 196: “They're good kids. They were taught by César Gracie the way I was taught in jiu-jitsu, where you don't take insults home without talking back. They were raised the right way, they are good kids”, he commented.
