The first defeat of Conor McGregor in the octagon has not yet been well digested by the Irishman. In an interview more than a week after the setback, the Ultimate featherweight champion said he was very interested in a rematch against Nate diaz, who submitted him at UFC 196.
“I’d like to do this one again, right? So, it's something that interests me, for sure. You know, when I see the fight, I was winning. I won the first round and a half, I think. I'd love to get that one back. We'll see what happens. Money talks loudly. Life is good”, said McGregor, to the website “TMZ”. “I'm ready to fight again. I have a lot of fun. It was a good fight, a great fight. I look forward to returning with a thirst for revenge,” he added.
Despite his desire to face his tormentor, McGregor must have another rival in front of him next. Shortly after the defeat, the Irishman himself said that he should return to featherweight and put his belt on the line for the first time. The favorites to face him are José Aldo e Frankie Edgar.
