Rockhold: 'Weidman looks like PMS without the title; I will beat him quickly'

Champion also minimized the justification of his rival, who said he fought with a broken foot in their first meeting

Known for his controversial and irreverent style, the middleweight champion Luke Rockhold The atmosphere has already started to heat up for his first belt defense, against Chris Weidman, at UFC 199. The Californian commented on the rematch against the former title holder and spared no provocation towards his rival.

“Obviously, not having the belt is messing with him. I don't know where this is coming from, but he's really emotional, maybe he's PMSing or something… He doesn't seem the same. We'll see if emotions help you, but my experience is that it doesn't help you fight. He better check himself or the duel will be shorter than he ever expected. I don't feel threatened by Chris. I don't see what he can bring to send me away. He’s a great fighter, but I’m the best,” said Rockhold, in an interview with the North American press.

Furthermore, the athlete from American kickboxing Academy secured a quick victory over Weidman in June. “It will be quick. Weidman fought with a broken foot? What will change when his foot is recovered? His kicks were his most effective part of the fight. And he kicked with both feet. Operating with healthy feet will not help you box better or be better at grappling. I was there and fought even though I was on antibiotics,” he concluded.
