Giovani Decker, director of the UFC in Brazil, recently revealed that Anderson Silva will not be able to compete in the event in Curitiba, in May, due to lack of opponent. However, apparently the manager forgot to consult an athlete in the top 10 in the middleweight category: the American Tim Kennedy.
On his Twitter account, Kennedy made it clear that he would face Anderson on any date, which would include the first Brazilian event in 2016. Asked by a follower if he would agree to duel with “Spider”, Kennedy was succinct: “Yes.”
Then, the North American went further: “I formally challenge Anderson Silva for a good old fashioned beating. You have an ugly bald head and you like to cheat”, wrote the fighter, marking the profiles of Dana White, president of the UFC, and the organization itself.
Currently ranked seventh in the middleweight category, Kennedy has not fought since September 2014, when he controversially lost to Yoel romero at UFC 178. The UFC will hold its first edition in Curitiba on May 14, at the Arena da Baixada stadium.
