President Dana White has stated several times that he would like to have Fedor Emelianenko on the Ultimate fighter roster, but it seems that the Russian is increasingly distant from the UFC. This Monday, the company M-1 Global, which controls the fighter's career, announced on Twitter that Fedor's contract renewal with Strikeforce is close.
“Smelly fans! Negotiations with Showtime and Strikeforce are going well for a contract extension for another five fights”, said the microblog.
Emelianenko had two fights in Strikeforce, winning on his debut Brett Rogers by technical knockout in the second round and in his last appearance, he was submitted by the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum, in June, when his unbeaten streak of more than 10 years was broken.
