After being completed by Charles of the Bronx at UFC Fight Night 22, the Mexican Ephraim Escudero was fired from the UFC. The winner of the eighth edition of TUF announced on his Twitter that he is no longer part of the Ultimate roster of fighters.
“True fans! I was released by the UFC to talk to Strikeforce and Bellator. Take a week off and make my way back”, said Efrain on the microblog.
Escudero participated in the eighth edition of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), the UFC's reality show. The fighter was trained by Rodrigo Minotauro on the program and won the title by defeating Philippe Nover in the unanimous decision of the judges, in December 2008. Efrain has a record of 13 wins and only two losses, but these losses occurred in his last three appearances. Another determining factor for the dismissal was that the fighter was unable to reach the weight limit of 70 kilos for the fight against Charles, being fined 20% of his salary.
