Conor McGregor seems willing to break boundaries not only within the UFC, but in the fighting world in general. After winning the world featherweight title and immediately moving up a division, the Irishman also expressed his desire to have a boxing fight against none other than Floyd Mayweather Jr, one of the most successful boxers of modern times.
McGregor was asked about this in an interview with the British broadcaster “BT Sport”, emphasizing that such a fight would generate “billions of dollars”. “I am open to discussions. Come to me! I have the key to the world of fights. I'm open-minded, open to discussions. I love competitions, I love fighting. It would be cool to have a fight that fans are interested in seeing. For me, numbers are everything, so I would do it without a problem”, declared the fighter.
Mayweather retired from boxing last year, with an undefeated record of 49 wins in 49 fights, but is often speculated about a new fight. McGregor, in turn, is committed to the UFC this Saturday (5), when he faces Nate diaz in the main fight of UFC 196.
