After months of negotiations and much controversy, the former featherweight champion José Aldo is the newest athlete sponsored by Reebok, a UFC partner brand that has exclusive rights to the sports materials displayed inside the Octagon.
Negotiations between Aldo and Reebok began in 2015, when the Brazilian still held the featherweight title. The company and the fighter did not reach an agreement before UFC 194 and the man from Manaus ended up defeated by Conor McGregor, losing the belt. The defeat, however, did not prevent the agreement from being concluded.
According to the “Combate” channel website, Reebok also signed two other Brazilians: Thominhas Almeida and Feilpe Sertanejo, teammates at Chute Boxe-Diego Lima. In addition to Thominhas, Sertanejo and Aldo, the middleweight Ronaldo Jacare It is also sponsored by the UFC's partner brand.
